Lack of school fees is a barrier to secondary education...

One of the main reasons for the low enrollment of girls in secondary school is the persistent high level of poverty.  This, coupled with the cultural perception that girls have less worth than boys and don't deserve to be educated, leads to more than half of girls in Kenya not being enrolled in secondary school.  Established in 2014 as a U.S. 501(c)3 organization, Every Girl Counts, Inc. set out to help alleviate the burden many impoverished families face when it comes to providing secondary education for their girls.  In 2015, Every Girl Counts constructed Bright Hope Education Centre, as well as raised full academic sponsorships for 30 students to attend school.  Join the movement to educate, empower and sustain impoverished women and girls through Bright Hope Education Centre and other Every Girl Counts projects.
